It surprises me that we vid-bods don't have a better angle on music-creation (without the copyright ogre), since sound is "almost 50%" of a vid. However, alongside this software therewere som piano-roll tunes and I ran a few of them (I should be in bed!) and learn't a few tune tricks gathered form the classical masters - seeing parts of their piano-roll shows up where they've copied patterns, which are there in the music, but I'd not look at serious complicated scores. do you know if it works with XP, then I can use my old PC+printer & USB-stick to move the file-data?.RTFM, I know.) All I can say is this is fantastic-value and it might force me to buy a Win7 printer just to see the notes on the page. Sadly, you must enter each note's time value and that's where I cannot work out my crotchets and so-on (although I know by ear if they are wrong length). I don't need a bigger computer and I don't need the latest all singing all dancing Cubase. Having said that though, my 2005 2Gb Win XP system quite happily runs 24-bit 48Khz recordings, using BFD and BFD XFL drums and the full East West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, without so much as a hiccup, even with full orchestrations. The audio side is limited to 48 channels, which sounds great, but they don't tell you that master Left and Right, sub groups etc all use music channels leaving you less for multi-track recording. The MIDI editing covers (almost) everything I want it to do - before I switched to Cubase I was using Music-X on the Amiga and it had a great MIDI 'scatter' function, which I miss - but the piano roll editing is there, as well as other editing functions. That probably explains why I am still using Cubase SE - the original v1 (honestly) because it does everything I need it to do. Hi Harry - I'm probably not the best person to comment on what is available these days, I tend to research based on what I need, buy the software and stick to it until I outgrow it, then look again.
